Charlotte Junior Chamber
Since 1929, The Charlotte Junior Chamber has been the premier organization for young professionals ages 21 to 39.   We are the charter chapter for the state. The fist big project undertaken by the chapter was to handle the transportation for the Confederate War Veterans Reunion that was held in Charlotte in June, 1929. The Jaycees used a fleet of 200 cars and 100 buses for transportating the ten thousand Confederate Veterans during their week-long reunion.

About Us

Since 1929, The Charlotte Junior Chamber has been the premier organization for young professionals ages 21 to 39.   Based upon the foundational characteristics of leadership, community service and individual development, the Junior Chamber offers opportunities for young professionals to grow and mature into the leaders of tomorrow.

The Junior Chamber, also known as the “Jaycees,” is a member driven organization where leadership development is acquired through actual opportunities to lead.  We serve our community and the Jaycee movement as a whole through the year-round execution of community and individual development projects, all while advancing and sharpening the next civic,  business and community leaders for Charlotte and abroad.

Our core mission is rooted in faith, economic justice through free enterprise, a strong, transparent, fair government, the power of human personality and service to humanity.

Jaycees can be found in all walks of life:

Governmental leaders: Presidents Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford
Business Entrepreneurs:  Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan and real estate mogul Allen Tate
Entertainment  Celebrities: Former Miss America Kaye Lani Rae Rafko-Wilson
Sports Heroes: Basketball titan Larry Bird

The Jaycees Creed

We believe that faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations; that economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; that government should be of laws rather than of men; that earth’s greatest treasure lies in human personality; and that service to humanity is the best work of life.
