2nd Annual Goodwill Electronics Recycling Drive

Your support is needed to ensure the success of the Goodwill Technology Drive, a joint effort of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont and the Charlotte Junior Chamber to encourage people to donate their old electronics for recycling and re-use rather than dumping them into local landfills. Please join us between 8a-5p on 9/18. 15-20 volunteers are needed to cover collection shifts. The rest of you are needed to please spread the word. Please share this event on your via Facebook, Twitter and any other of your social networking accounts. By simpling letting your friends and family know about our collection drive  you are doing your part to help make Charlotte a better place. Be sure to tell them to come to Park Road Shopping Center, drop their donations and Q'Doba Restaurant will give them a voucher to receive a free entre. (Map It!)

You may not know this but:

  • Electronic waste is the fastest growing waste problem in the world

  • Each year over 220 million tons of old computers make their way into US landfills

  • 250 million computers will become obsolete in the next 5 years

  • Computers and related equipment can contain hazardous materials unwanted in our landfills.

The threat to our water supply is dire while the solution is simple: Don't Dump, Donate!

When you donate your old eletronics, you're making a difference right here in your world. Not only are you protecting your water supply, but you're also invigorating the local economy via valuable job training programs that are directly impacted by your old, un-used electronics.

The Jaycees Creed

We believe that faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations; that economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; that government should be of laws rather than of men; that earth’s greatest treasure lies in human personality; and that service to humanity is the best work of life.
